Local Dell work to be sent to Mexico and other countries

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Production at Dell Inc.'s Forsyth County plant, which is closing, will be moved to Mexico and other countries, according to a federal document.

Dell indicated in a Trade Adjustment Assistance Act petition that the work that has been done in Forsyth County will be given to third-party providers in Mexico and other countries.

Dell said last week that it will close the plant, cutting 905 jobs.

The plant will cut 600 jobs next month and the rest in January.

The petition allows workers at the plant in southeastern Forsyth County to collect additional unemployment benefits.
