AT&T said yesterday that it has activated a 3G cell site in Kernersville that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses.
This cell site is part of its plans for extended service in the Triad by the end of the year.
The site covers residential and commercial areas near Interstate 40 and U.S. 421.
From 2006 to 2008, AT&T's total capital investment in its wireless and wireline networks in North Carolina was nearly $1.2 billion. In 2009, AT&T plans to invest $17 billion to $18 billion in its entire wired and wireless networks.
