Dr. William T. Smith has joined Brookview Hills Internal Medicine at 3333 Brookview Hills Blvd., Suite 207 in Winston-Salem. The practice specializes in the management of chronic diseases and diagnosis and treatment of acute diseases for patients aged 18 and older. Smith earned his medical degree at East Carolina University School of Medicine. He was a partner at Cornerstone Internal Medicine at Jamestown for six years and most recently was the owner of Premier Internal Medicine P.C. in Hickory.

■ Woodbine in Winston-Salem has promoted Ashley Dillon to the position of account executive. Dillon, who has worked for the brand revitalization agency for a year, was an account coordinator. In her new role, she will service several of Woodbine's key accounts, including Ekornes home furnishings, Kayser-Roth and Sasquatch. She will also lead the agency's work for SCAN, Stop Child Abuse Now.

■ One Source of NC LLC, a firm that specializes in the recruitment of people with architecture, engineering and design skills, has expanded into the Triad. Beth Loseke has joined the firm to handle business development and client relations for the Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem area. Loseke brings more than 20 years of experience to One Source.

Graylyn International Conference Center, a part of Wake Forest University, has been awarded the 2008 Paragon Award by the subscribers of Corporate Meetings & Incentives magazine. This marks the second time that Graylyn has won the award. The magazine asked subscribers to vote for the hotels, resorts and conference centers that did the best job of handling their meetings and incentive programs during the past year.

■ The law firm of Womble Carlyle has been named the 2009 winner of the Law Firm Diversity Award by DRI, formerly the Defense Research Institute, the Voice of the Defense Bar. The DRI Awards are national in scope and only one law firm in the country is honored annually for its commitment to diversity.

■ The U.S. Senate recently passed a resolution honoring the High Point Market as one of the world's premier industry trade shows. Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C., and Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., introduced the resolution in September to commemorate the market's 100th Anniversary.

■ The Wake Forest University Schools of Business recently held graduation ceremonies for the Charlotte Evening MBA Program's Class of 2009. The Class of 2009 recognized Chet Miller and John Silvia by awarding them with the Outstanding Faculty Recognition Award for their first- and second-years in the program respectively. The award is given annually by each MBA class for outstanding contributions to the education and personal development of students.

Zack Rothrock Builders Inc. has received two Stars Awards from the N.C. Home Builders Association. This awards program honors the achievements of home building industry professionals. The first STARS award was awarded for Best Color Ad, full page or under, for a builder, developer, associate, realty company or community. Zack Rothrock Builders won for the "What can your home be?" ad series. The second STARS award the company received was for Best Brochure/Direct Mail piece for a project by a builder with less than 50 residences a year.
