The Winston-Salem metropolitan statistical area is among six regions in North Carolina ranked among the 20 best metro places for business and careers, according a ranking in Forbes.com.
Winston-Salem was ranked 18th overall in the three primary categories. The area was listed seventh in cost of doing business, 64th in job-growth projections, and 112th in educational attainment.
Raleigh was ranked first, with Durham third, Asheville sixth, Wilmington 13th and Charlotte 19th. Greensboro-High Point was ranked 41st, but with the top ranking for cost of doing business.
