Mocksville, Davie County offering incentives to Ingersoll-Rand

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Davie County and the town of Mocksville are offering up to $370,000 in incentives to Ingersoll-Rand, which is planning to bring 20 new jobs to the county in a consolidation of its plants.

The company announced last week that it would expand its Mocksville work force by 20 jobs by Aug. 31. The company also said it would spend $18.5 million on capital investments at the plant.

It is consolidating part of its integrated compressor-manufacturing operations into the Mocksville plant, including moving equipment from its plant in Pueblo, Colo.

The town of Mocksville would provide up to $148,000 and Davie County would provide up to $222,000. The incentives would be contingent on the company investing $18.5 million at its Mocksville plant and providing 20 new jobs.

The plant has operated in Mocksville since 1965. It had grown from 75 employees in a single building to more than 600 employees in five buildings covering more than 400,000 square feet.

The Davie County Board of Commissioners and Mocksville's board of commissioners will hold a joint public hearing at 5:30 p.m. July 6 at the Davie County Administration Building at 123 South Main St. in Mocksville.
