LONG VIEW -- Maple Springs Laundry Inc., a regional commercial laundry serving the health-care industry, said yesterday that it will expand its operations in Burke County.

The company said it would create 68 jobs and spend $5.9 million on capital investments over three years at the plant in Long View.

The company is eligible for a $136,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which the governor can provide to expanding businesses or those opening operations in the state.

Maple Springs, based in Hickory, provides full laundry services for patient linens, pillows, operating room scrub wear and other hospital and doctor's office linens. The company has nearly 200 employees at its operations in Hickory.
