RALEIGH -- Gov. Bev Perdue established a logistics task force yesterday that will make recommendations on how to ensure that people and goods are able to move efficiently across North Carolina.
The task force will review transportation systems in North Carolina, including roads and highways, airports, ports, multimodal transportation and railroads.
The review will focus on giving North Carolina a competitive advantage in economic development by maximizing existing transportation systems and defining priorities for future transportation investments. Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton will serve as chairman of the task force.
The task force is part of Perdue's JobsNOW initiative to aggressively create jobs, train and retrain its work force.
