RALEIGH -- The N.C. Real Estate Commission has revoked the license of a local Realtor, Cesar G. Gordola. The commission took the action in late July. Gordola operated Gordola Realty at 514 S. Stratford Road in Winston-Salem as the broker-in-charge. The commission reported that Gordola consented to the revocation of his license.
Reasons listed by the commission for the revocation include: failing to deposit clients' money in a trust account, failing to keep accurate ledgers and journals of the monies deposited into or paid from his trust accounts, and failing to provide some buyers and sellers with accurate closing statements.
Along with the license revocation, the commission forbids Gordola from "acting or holding himself out to be a real-estate broker or firm," according to a consent order dated July 16. The commission said that those actions are violations of the N.C. General Statutes and its rules.
Mark Chiarello, an attorney who represented Gordola, said Wednesday that Gordola was found to have engaged in poor record keeping by the commission. He said that there are no criminal or civil proceedings against Gordola to his knowledge.
