Duke Energy will hold a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday for apprentice line service workers in its Carolinas service area.
The job fair will be held at the west campus of Forsyth Technical Community College, 1300 Bolton St. in Winston-Salem.
"We have about 32 openings for positions across the Carolinas," spokeswoman Betsy Conway said today.
There are three distribution line help jobs -- one each in Kernersville, Lewisville and Reidsville, along with one transmission technician job each in Burlington and Greensboro, and three transmission relay technician jobs in Greensboro.
"Forsyth Tech has developed a lineman training curriculum, and we anticipate some of those students will attend," Conway said. "Some of our training folks have been very involved in helping the school get its program started."
Duke officials will be available to discuss the jobs, which will require classroom work and extensive on-the-job training.
Following the information session, those interested will be instructed to apply for the apprentice program at www.duke-energy.com.
